There is no specific legislation on participatory budgeting.

We can see more use of digital platforms, transparency regarding the information presented on the municipalities’ websites. For example, in blog- format. The use of digital maps for visualization is more common nowadays. Voting is mainly done online but there are possibilities to vote a traditional manner too.
INITIAL REFERENCE FOR THE ADOPTION OF PB IN THE COUNTRY
We have held several training seminars and visits to other countries to learn more about the different experiences of Participatory Budgeting. We have collected the ideas that best suited our context. The main influences came from countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy and the United States of America.
SUBSEQUENT REFERENCE FOR PB DISSEMINATION
Our digital tool “Visual Budget” has been used in several PB processes in different municipalities in Sweden.
